Swainsboro Girl’s Basketball Rolling Through Region Play
By Justin Gray
The Swainsboro Girls basketball team is playing at a high level at the right time. They are in the middle of region play and are still undefeated during it. They now hoist an 8-5 record overall, 4-0 in region. The Lady Tigers are 3-2 in their last five games. They lost a heartbreaker to Claxton, 45-44 in overtime. They took out their frustration on their next opponent, Treutlen, beating them down 73-39. They lost another close one in their next matchup to Southeast Bulloch 50-48. The next two games were big region games for the Lady Tigers, and they did what they had to do and came out victorious in both. They beat East Laurens 58-29 and Jefferson County 65-40. These girls have owned this region so far, and they look to keep doing that as they take on Bleckley County on January 24 and Dublin on January 27, they also play a non-region game against Statesboro on January 28. The first one is at home and the following two are away. Let’s go support these girls!
