Tigers getting hot as Region play approaches

By Justin Gray

The Tigers took on a three-game week as they head into their Region schedule. Swainsboro took on a tough Jenkins County team in a double-header. Game one didn’t go well for the Tigers as they were held to one run on just three hits. River Greene took the loss on the mound as the Tigers dropped this one, 3-1.

Game two was a different story for the Tigers as the bats erupted for a 10-0 blowout win. The Tigers tallied seven hits, with Lenox Lively and Kason Palmer both having a multi-hit effort. Jeffrey Brown and Brandon Chapman also had hits while driving in two runs a piece. Palmer started the game for Swainsboro and put up another dominant performance as he threw a complete game shutout allowing only one hit.

The last game of the week was on Thursday as the Tigers took the long trip to Peach County. Swainsboro picked up a huge road win in this one, 5-0 behind Brandon Chapman’s six scoreless innings on the mound. Jakari Nobles led the Tigers at the plate going 2-3 with an RBI. Lively, Greene, Brown, Caden Daley, and Jackson Gray each added to the Tigers hit totals.

The Tigers are getting hot at the right time as they get ready to take on a favorable Region schedule. This week, the Tigers will play a Region three-game set with East Laurens. They played game one on Tuesday, March 21 at home. Games two and three will be Friday, March 24 in a double-header. Good luck to the Tigers this week! There were no game results as of press time for Tuesdays game.
