Mr. Ralph Akridge, age 88, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025, surrounded by his large and loving family. Funeral services were held Monday, July 7, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Rev. Rusty Moore officiating, assisted by Rev. Tim Price. Interment followed at the Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Aline. Visitation was held Sunday, July 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Bryan Akridge, Addison Akridge, Clint Akridge, Adam McNeal, Brandon Gay, Morgon Colston and Austin Farrow. Honorary pallbearers were Rusty Turner, Anthony Turner, Bo Akridge, Phillip Akridge, Coty Colston, Jim Akridge, Wesley Farrow and Gatlin Farrow.

Ralph was the owner and operator of Akridge Concrete Construction in Swainsboro for many years until his retirement. He loved fishing, tending to his chickens, playing cards, but most of all, the time spent with friends and especially his family. Ralph was one to have never met a stranger, welcoming anyone into his friendship and fellowship. Mr. Akridge is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Trudie Akridge; wife, Neva “Susie” Akridge; siblings, Annie Marsh, Martha Nell Beasley, Leona Jones, Katie Canady, James Akridge, M.D. Akridge and Alvie Akridge.

Mr. Akridge is survived by his children and their spouses, Charles (Ellen) Akridge, Dennis (Melissa) Akridge, David (Betsy) Akridge, Albert (Johanna) Gay, Jay (Roxanne) Gay, Gail (Rollie) Turner, Doris (Joe) Colston, Susan Akridge, Autumn (Kenneth) Allen and Donya (Marcus) Henry; brother, Elsie Akridge; sister, Jean Henry; 39 grandchildren; 82 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; special grandson, Addison Akridge; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Chapman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
