Friday, June 27, an Emanuel County Jury convicted Daniel Lee Rogers for charges relating to child sexual abuse. He was sentenced by Chief Judge Bobby Reeves on two counts rape with life without parole, two counts aggravated child molestation with life, one count child molestation and one count incest. Rogers was sentenced to life without parole followed by consecutive prison time.
District Attorney Tripp Fitzner commented, “Thank you to Emanuel County Sheriff Jeff Brewer for the outstanding work done by his deputies in the investigation of this case. This successful prosecution was built on the foundation of the work they did before it ever got to court. Chief Assistant District Attorney Jessica Wilson tried the case on behalf of the state. I don’t have the vocabulary for all the adjectives I need to use to describe what an awesome job she did. She was assisted by our support staff who, as always, makes it possible for us to be successful. Thank you Chief Investigator Rocky Davis, Victim Services Director Donna Moore and intern Jordan Powell, for all their help. There are never in any winners in cases like this. Please keep everyone affected and involved in your prayers.”
