Mrs. Rose Barwick, age 69, of Swainsboro, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at her residence. Graveside service was held Friday, June 13, at 10 a.m. at the New Hope Cemetery in Nunez with Pastor Jeff Raines officiating. Family received friends Friday, June 13, from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at New Hope Cemetery in Nunez.

Rose was born February 29, 1956, to the late Elton Bass, Sr. and Betty Ruth Cobb. She was an amazing woman inside and out. Rose loved her kids and family with everything in her. She was always there to help anyone in need. Rose had such a loving heart. In her spare time, all she wanted to do was spend time with her grandchildren and drink her coffee. Rose was such a perfect soul. She will be carried on in the hearts of everyone that loved and knew her; her siblings, children, grandchildren, family and friends. Rose was a god-fearing woman and now her soul is at peace with the Lord, and she will forever watch over us. She was also dedicated to her workplace after working for R&F Marketing for nine years, and the Vidalia Peanut Company for ten years. Mrs. Barwick is preceded in death by her parents; son, Billy Hatten; grand-daughter, Mya Rose Woods; and brother, Elton Bass Jr.

Mrs. Barwick is survived by her children, Scott (Teresa) Barwick, Ricky (Mae) Hatten and Patricia (Chris) Hickman; siblings, Lee Bass, Allen (Linda) Bass, Patricia Small, Betty Jean (Steve) Holtz and Sadie (Colon) Caddell; eleven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and loving friends of the family, Starr Barwick, Caleb Hopkins, Brandi Bass, Rosie Durden and Billie Howell.

Chapman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
