Mr. Rusty Marion Braddy, 45, of Oak Park, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at his residence. Funeral services were held Friday, January 24, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Reverend Mark Sweat officiating. Interment followed at Oak Park City Cemetery. Family received friends Thursday, January 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Will Martin, Ron Womack, Bin Turner, Matt Thomas, Curt Grim, and Brad Riner. Honorary pallbearers were Rusty’s nephews.

Rusty was born September 15, 1979, in Metter, to Jimmy D. Braddy and Dawn Warren Braddy of Oak Park. He attended Swainsboro High School where he was the manager/bat boy for Swainsboro Tiger Baseball from 1997-1999, which he loved. Though Rusty had health problems since birth, he always had a smile on his face. Rusty had such a sweet disposition and loved our God. He was of the Baptist faith. Rusty attended Pendleton Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Braddy is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Wilson “Boy” and Lynette Warren; paternal grandparents, John Randolph and Mary Katherine Braddy; and special niece, Jade Braddy.

Mr. Braddy is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Dawn Braddy of Oak Park; sister, Lynn Sapp (Jason) of Portal; brother, Jimmy W. Braddy (Polly) of Metter; adopted sister, Michele Lyons of Swainsboro; many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he loved dearly; aunts and uncles.

Chapman Funeral Home of Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements.
