SAR holds memorial service for deceased members

Members of the Georgia Society gathered in the Hunnicutt Ballroom at the Hilton Hotel Saturday, February 7, at 8:30 a.m. for a memorial service for members of the Georgia Society that passed in 2025. Chaplain Ed Anderson read the names of all 45 deceased members as Randall Tindall rang the bell after each name. The Wiregrass Chapter of Swainsboro had two deceased members, Marcus Floyd Price, National Number 179132 who died on July 24, 2025, and Larry Carlton Dekle, National Number 221600 who died on December 12, 2025. The Mill Creek Chapter of Statesboro had one deceased member, Paul Austin Whitlock, Jr., National Number 176678 who died on May 17, 2025. The Little River Chapter in Thomson had four deceased members, Terry Marvin Johnson, National Number 211686 who died on July 28, 2025, Winston Richmond Harriss, Jr., National Number 193450 who died on October 12, 2025, James Charles Newsome, National Number 142312 who died on February 05, 2025, and William Howard Colbert, National Number 177249 who died on May 28, 2025.
