Pallbearers were Henry Terwilliger, Sidney Lanier, Cliff Smith, Danny Palmer, Bob Neil and John Morris. Honorary pallbearers were members of Lambs Chapel Church.
Sara was born June 22, 1948, in Glenwood, to the late Harold “Pot” Clark and Sara Irwin Clark. She worked and retired from the Gibson Card company after 30 years. After supporting her husband in 38 years of ministry, they moved to Swainsboro in June 2014 to be close to and help with their grandchildren. Even when looking for their new home, Sara wanted to make sure there was plenty of room to accommodate her grandsons. She loved tending to her plants and being out in the yard working, but more than anything, she loved the time spent with her children and grandchildren. In Sara’s free time, she enjoyed doing puzzles, sewing and playing the piano. Her favorite passion was cooking for her family. It was not uncommon for Sara to unexpectedly drive up to her daughter’s house with a full meal. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Swainsboro for eleven years. Sara was an active member in her Sunday School class and the 55 & Alive club. Along with her church, these two groups held a special place in her heart because of her love for the Lord and the special friendships she had with fellow believers. Mrs. Norwood is preceded in death by her parents, Harold “Pot” Clark and Sara Irwin Clark.
Mrs. Norwood is survived by her husband of 56 years, Rev. Bobby R. Norwood; children, Ben Norwood of Macon and Angela (Jody) Wilson of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Luke Wilson, Caleb Wilson and Evan Wilson; and her beloved cat, Dolly.
