The Wiregrass Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution held its monthly meeting at McKinney’s Pond Restaurant November 13, at 6:30 p.m. With President Steve Burke presiding, they had 16 in attendance including guests. President Steve opened the meeting with a welcome and asked 1st Vice President Alton Reynolds to open with a prayer and then led us in the Pledge to the U.S. Flag and the Pledge to the SAR. They then enjoyed a great buffet meal of shrimp, corn dodgers, French fries and all the trimmings. President Steve then called on Dess Smith to introduce the speaker, Senior Vice President Bill Tankersley. Bill is the Georgia Society Senior Vice President. He spoke on “The Horse named Independence”. President Steve then called on Compatriot Dess Smith for a special presentation. Dess presented Steve the National Certificate for Partners in Patriotism, Wreaths Across America 2024 for the Wiregrass Chapter. President Steve then inducted Compatriot Frank Denmark into the Wiregrass Chapter, then asked 1st VP Alton to say the benediction and led the SAR Recessional.
