The following occurred during the Emanuel County Superior Court July 2025 term:

Joshua Walker Purvis, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count serious injury by vehicle and leaving the scene. He was fined $50 with 15 years, serve 5 without parole bal. prob. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 15 years, with the first 5 to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 5 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).

Kaliel Knight, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty plea on one count burglary 2nd degree. He was fined $50 with 5 years, serve 1 year bal. prob. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 5 years, with the first year to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 1 year, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Edward Carl Ashley, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count rape reduced to criminal attempt. He was fined $50 with 30 years, serve 20 years bal. prob.; one count aggravated child molestation reduced to child molestation with 30 years probation to run consecutive with count one; one count enticing a child with 30 years, serve, 20 years bal. prob. to run concurrent with count one; one count child molestation 2nd with 30 years probation to run concurrent with count two. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 60 years, with the first 20 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 20 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(a).

Michael Robinson, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty plea on one count burglary 1st. He was fined $50 with 20 years, serve 4 years without parole to run concurrent with 24CR144. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 20 years, with the first 4 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 4 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).

Michael Robinson, repeat offender, negotiated a guilty plea on one count possession of meth with intent. He was fined $50 with 40 years, serve 4 years bal. prob.; nol pros on possession of marijuana <1 oz; nol pros on operation of unregistered vehicle. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 40 years, with the first 4 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 4 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The Court sentences the defendant as a recidivist under O.C.G.A. § 17-10-7(c).

Jason Castile negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count possession of meth. He was fined $50 with 8 years probation; one count possession of drug related objects with 12 months probation to run concurrent with count one. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 8 years to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody from 12/15/24-9/23/25. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Jani Mason Behrend negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count aggravated assault. She was fined $250 with 20 years prob, serve 211 days in county (CTS). Defendant is sentenced for a total of 20 years, with the first 211 days to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody from 2/25/25-9/24/25. Upon service of 211 days, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

The above sentence includes a behavior incentive date of 9/24/2028 in accordance with O.C.G.A. 17.10.1.

Harrison Donte Sherrod negotiated a guilty plea on one count terroristic threats. He was fined $50 with 5 years prob.; one count obstruction with 12 months probation to run consecutive with count one; one count shoplifting with 12 months probation to run consecutive with count two; one count possession of marijuana <1 oz to run concurrent with count three. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 7 years to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody from 2/12/21-9/24/25. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Jaron Tiquan Badie negotiated a guilty plea on one count theft by taking. He was fined $50 with 5 years, serve 2 years bal. prob. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 5 years, with the first 2 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody from 4/22/24-9/24/25. Upon service of 2 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Mary Crowley negotiated a guilty plea on one count possession of schedule II substance. She was fined $500 with 3 years probation, subj. to RSAT susp. upon DRC; one count possession of marijuana with 12 months probation to run concurrent with count one. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 3 years to be served on probation. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Charles Kirkland negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count terroristic threats with 5 years to serve; one count drug related object with 12 months to serve to run concurrent with count one; one count possession of firearm by convicted felon. He was fined $50 with 10 years, serve 5 years bal. prob. to run concurrent with counts one and two. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 10 years, with the first 5 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 5 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Michael Anthony Jones, Jr. negotiated a guilty plea on one count possession of meth with intent. He was fined $1,500 with 30 years probation; one count possession of marijuana with intent with 10 years probation to run concurrent with count one; one count possession of drug related objects with 12 months probation to run concurrent with count one; one count possession of firearm during commission of a felony with 5 years probation to run consecutive with count one. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 35 years to be served on probation. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The above sentence includes a behavior incentive date of 9/24/2028 in accordance with O.C.G.A. 17.10.1.

Samuel Lee Morgan negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count impersonating a police officer. He was fined $50 with 5 years prob., subj. to 170-180 days PDC (SUSP); one count impersonating a police officer with 5 years prob., subj. to 170-180 days PDC (SUSP) to run concurrent with count one. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 5 years to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody from 3/23/25-9/23/25. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The above sentence includes a behavior incentive date of 9/23/2028 in accordance with O.C.G.A. 17.10.1.

April Powell negotiated a guilty-alford plea on one count possession of cocaine. She was fined $50 with 3 years probation; one count possession of marijuana less than ounce with 12 years probation to run concurrent with count one. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 3 years to be served on probation. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Terrie Lennette Davis negotiated a guilty plea on one count possession of cocaine. She was fined $50 with 3 years probation. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 3 years to be served on probation. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Christopher Ke’Shawn Smith negotiated a guilty plea on one count possession of schedule I controlled substance (bath salts). He was fined $500 with 3 years prob., subj. to 170-180 days PDC (SUSP); one count possession of marijuana less than ounce with 12 months prob. to run concurrent with count one. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 3 years to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Timothy Jermaine Morgan negotiated a guilty plea on one count fleeing. He was fined $5,000; one count obstruction of law enforcement officer with $50 fine and 12 months probation; one count failure to maintain lane with 12 months probation to run consecutive with count two. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 24 months to be served on probation. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence. The above sentence includes a behavior incentive date of in accordance with O.C.G.A. 17.10.1.

Austin Lariscey negotiated a nol pros on burglary 1st degree; nol pros possession of sawed-off shotgun; guilty on one count possession of firearm by convicted felon. He was fined $50 with 10 years, serve 2 bal. prob. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 10 years, with the first 2 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 2 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.
