On Saturday, March 30, 2024, members of the East Fall Line Region Skunk Brigade traveled to Sylvania to participate in the Annual Livestock Parade. The Skunk Brigade has been par-ticipating in the annual event for several years and look forward to showing off our flintlocks and militia uniforms. This year, they again rode the trailer of the Little River President Alton McCloud. The Fall Line Region Vice President Bill Tankersley pulled the trailer while nine flintlock firers rode the trailer which consisted of Steve Burke, Lee Herron, Don Bazemore, Dess Smith III, Bernard Martin, Bernard Martin II, Benjamin Martin, Alton McCloud and Ted Walker, President of the South Carolina Society SAR. This year, they stopped the trailer every 50 yards and fired their flintlocks for a total of 96 shots. After the parade, they were joined by the Past President of the Brier Creek Chapter and a member of the Skunk Brigade Emory Lee Smith and had a great meal at “Pops Kitchen” in Sylvania. The brigade was joined by Georgia State Senator Max Burns during the festivities.
