Sixty students from Swainsboro Middle School attended the state Jr. Beta Convention in Savannah November 27-29. These students were among over 3,000 other students from across the state of Georgia. SMS is proud of all the students who attended and competed in various competitions. They all represented Emanuel County well. SMS Beta came home with the top five finishes in nine different categories and qualify to compete at Nationals in June.

5th Place in Songfest-Layla Headrick, Ethan Mason, Sara Smith, Savannah Thompson, Arlin Swanner, Amelia Clements, Gracee Brown, Gatlin Martinez, Rayanna Burnette, Hannah Camararo, Jacob Carroll, Brennan Collins, Colt Sconyers, Jaliyah Hall, Kaybreigh Hostilo, Rayleigh Hutcheson, Lenox McNeely, Sydney Lively, Stella Kate Marsh, Maritza Martinez, Parker Outlaw, Raylin Stapleton, Banks Burke, Kirstin Coleman, Cade Colston, Calli Fields, Bowyn Harvey, Maddux Hendrix, Consuela Jimenez, Landon Kapp, Luis Lopez-Garcia, Alice Lopez, Ava Patel, Jusvin Rithsay, Aubree Robers, Sakiyna Sanders, Anna Grace Scarborough, Kaylee Screws, Stetson Sheppard, Sariyah Smith, Cierra Thomas, Jude Thompson, Abi Torpy, Ashlyn Turner, Julianne Way and Jocelyn Williams; 5th Place in Digital Portfolio- Maritza Martinez, Alice Lopez, Jocelyn Williams, Ava Patel, Abi Torpy and Julianne Way; 3rd Place in Book Battle-Arlin Swanner, Gzourney Gardner and Amelia Clements; 3rd Place in 3D Design- Amelia Clements, Stella Kate Marsh and Sydney Lively; 3rd Place in Quilling-Kaylee Screws; 4th Place in Color Photography- Aubree Roberts; State Champion in Mixed Media-Abi Torpy; State Champion in Woodworking- Tate Torpy; State Champion in 6th Grade Spanish- Alice Lopez.

Other SMS Beta students who attended and competed in various events were Kamm’Rynn Bell, Chloe Boulineau, Cayden Claxton, Miranda Rich, Brett Way, Jamir Carter, Owen Cheeks, Payton McCullough, Jurnee Wynn, Edyn Henry, and Gabe Sammons.
