With Southeastern Technical College (STC) board members, trustees, and colleagues and board members from the Technical College System of Georgia, President Larry Calhoun welcomed congressional leaders to the annual Southeastern Technical College Legislative Breakfast on November 20, 2024, held at STC’s Economic Development Center.

Georgia State Senators Billy Hickman and Blake Tillery and Georgia House of Representatives Butch Parrish and Bill Werkheiser attended.

“It’s always a pleasure to host legislators for a State of the College presentation,” said President Calhoun. “We truly appreciate the time they dedicate to the important work we do and the impact it has on our communities. Their understanding and support are invaluable to our continued success.”

A special thank you to Senator Tillery for sharing updates on recent legislative actions, the priorities for the upcoming session, and for addressing key issues impacting our region.

Hearing directly from President Calhoun and elected officials, this annual event provides an opportunity for collaboration on how to best serve our part of the state. The STC Legislative Breakfast is an opportunity to hear from decision-makers who represent the STC service delivery area of Candler, Emanuel, Jenkins, Johnson, Montgomery, Tattnall, Toombs, and Treutlen Counties and learn more about the policies shaping business and industry.

With insightful dialogue, we can continue addressing the opportunities and challenges that shape our future.
