May 2
Officer was dispatched to the emergency room in reference to a dog bite incident. C/p stated that while he and his grandchild were walking their dog, three other dogs approached and charged at them. In an effort to protect his grandchild and his dog, he was bit by the attacking dogs. Animal control was notified along with the suspected owner, who stated that they should take the dogs as they continue to escape the property.
Officer responded to the Emanuel Medical Center parking lot in reference to a possible fight between a father and a son. Upon arrival a man was spotted near the entrance to the emergency room with blood on his shirt and a busted nose. He advised that he and his son got into a physical altercation at their residence on Robin Road. He stated that his son was in his mother’s car and pointed out the vehicle. When asked to explain what happened at the residence, he stated that he received a call from his mother stating that his son was being disrespectful. He stated that his son then bowed up at him and he pushed his son away when the fight began. When speaking to the son, he stated that his father accused him of stealing something out of his truck and he hit him. Due to physical evidence, the son was concluded to be guilty of battery against his father. The Department of Juvenile Justice was contacted and both parties were told to separate.
Officers were at the Boneyard Pavilion and were approached by a concerned citizen stating that she found a transaction register book on the ground.
Officer responded to Kite Road in reference to a report of harassing communications. C/p stated that offender had an affair with her husband a while back. When she called her husband’s phone, the offender answered and hung up. Offender texted c/p stating that she was going to come to her house the following morning and she also emailed her. C/p was advised to have her husband block the number.
May 3
Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to theft. C/p stated that her juvenile son had brought his toy splat gun to the Pine Tree Festival. While attending the event, a group of other kids walked up and took the splat gun from him. The juvenile was very uncooperative, but did point out a group of juveniles that were in the parking lot. When approaching the group, they returned the battery but not the gun itself. The group was asked to identify themselves due to the lack of the son not being able to point out which one took the gun.
Officer was dispatched to the area of South Main Street in reference to a vehicle being broken down on the railroad tracks. The vehicle appeared to have a broken tie rod. The vehicle was towed.
Officers were dispatched to Hopkins Street in reference to an unwanted guest. Both parties met with officer in the roadway. C/p stated that he wanted the female gone from his residence. While he was talking to officer, the offender continued to talk over him. Officer noticed that both parties were intoxicated. Offender stated that she came over to see her kids and that c/p came onto her and she refused. She then stated that he assaulted her but there was no evidence found to show proof. When c/p was asked about the incident he stated that she was hitting him, and he pushed her off of him.
May 4
Officer responded to Shearhouse Street in reference to a loud music complaint. Upon arrival, a large number of vehicles were spotted parked on both sides of the roadway and a crowd of people in front of two residences with loud music playing and yelling. When officers arrived a majority of the crowd dispersed. Contact was made with the owner of the residence who was arguing with a neighbor over a fence separating the houses. He stated that c/p and his nephew came to the residence telling them to turn their music down. He also stated that c/p had a gun on his waist, so he pushed him and the nephew to the ground. Neighbor was arrested for making terroristic threats in the presence of officers.
Officer was positioned at the rear of SPD doing a report when he was approached by a man holding his arm stating that someone had hurt him. He was also highly intoxicated. The man asked for EMS. He stated that he was walking, and someone pushed him out of the way. When EMS arrived, he denied having any injuries. He stated that he would walk home but was advised not to due to the possibility of being arrested for public intoxication. He became irate and was arrested for public intoxication.
Officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a vehicle driving recklessly through the parking lot. C/p stated that he, his daughter, and her child were walking to return to their vehicle when a vehicle came around another vehicle and almost struck the shopping cart he was pushing. The driver then proceeded to drive off. The vehicle had no registration number attached.
Officer was dispatched to the area of Highway 80 East and Industrial Way in reference to a truck that had gone off the road and into the ditch. When approaching the vehicle, two occupants were observed, and a strong odor of alcohol was coming from inside the vehicle. The driver and the passenger were transported to a nearby spot for field sobriety testing. The driver was arrested for DUI, open container, child endangerment, and driving without a valid driver’s license.
Officer was dispatched to West MLK Blvd in reference to a call about a domestic in progress involving a knife. Upon arrival, officer noticed people putting all the knives in a bag. The woman stated that the man had told her multiple times to leave him alone and she would not. Both parties were separated.
Officer was stationed at Walmart when an employee approached the vehicle and stated that he wanted to trespass a known shoplifter from the location.
Officer responded to Thompson Street in reference to a report of stalking. C/p/victims stated that they were riding around town and drove through the old Walmart parking lot. They stated that they saw someone they have had problems with in the past and attempted to leave the parking lot when the subject followed them. Offender attempted to get them to pull over and when they did not stop, offender became angry. C/p stated that offender had been told by law enforcement to stay away from them before.
Officer responded to SPD in reference to a damage to vehicle report. C/p and her son stated that the day before a vehicle backed into the driver rear door of their vehicle. C/p was at work while this happened and the driver that hit them came in to explain what happened. No information was exchanged.
May 5
Officer was dispatched to Drake Avenue in reference to a call about a female not allowing a male to leave. Both parties were standing in the living room upon arrival and were arrested.
Officer responded to a call on Richard Street for damage to a ring. C/p stated that she was at Walmart a few weeks ago and a man went into her purse and bent her ring.
May 6
Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to an unwanted vehicle. The vehicle was approached upon arrival and marijuana was located.
Officer responded to South Main Street for a female that jumped in a vehicle and was bleeding from her face. C/p stated that her friend jumped on her, so she jumped in a vehicle to get away from her, resulting in injuries to her face.
Officer responded to SPD in reference to a walk in report. Officer spoke with c/p who stated she recently discovered a laptop that is being financed through her place of work is being pawned off.
Officer responded to Walmart in reference to a caller stating that her son was missing. Officer met with c/p and her daughter who stated that she dropped her son, daughter, and her daughter’s boyfriend off at Walmart while she went to the doctor. The daughter stated that she noticed after walking around that her brother was no longer with them, so they began looking around the store. They asked one of the door greeters, they stated that they saw a person matching his description leave with a group of people. C/p stated that since he just moved here from South Carolina, he does not know anyone in the area.
Officer responded to Lewis Street in reference to someone wanting to make a report for their water being dirty.
Officers were dispatched to Electric Drive in reference to an incident between an employee and a supervisor. It was made known that an employee had been fired due to attempting to fight another employee. He had been late for work that day and when he was notified of his termination, he became irate and used profanity against the supervisor.
Officer was positioned at North Main Street for the purpose of an investigation where cocaine was found inside of a vehicle. Offender was arrested.
The Municipal Court Judge revoked the offender’s probation, and the offender was taken to Emanuel County Jail.
Officers were dispatched to McMillan Drive in reference to a suspicious vehicle driving down the roadway and stopping frequently. Upon arrival, officer did not see the vehicle described but met with people of the neighborhood. One neighbor stated that she had a picture of the vehicle. Another neighbor stated that he saw two people in the truck bed. Another neighbor was on his golf cart and spotted the occupants with splat guns trying to shoot him and also shot his residence.
May 7
Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to a walk in report. C/p stated that she has a TPO on the offender who has one on her as well. She stated that she has a child that attends early head start, the workplace of the offender. She stated that the offender went to her place of work and talked to her boss wanting her to get c/p to drop the TPO.
Officer went to Liberty County to pick up offender for a bench warrant.
Officers were dispatched to Stewart Road in reference to a person calling 911 and saying they needed police on scene right away. A female subject was seen upon arrival. She appeared to be angry and was not willing to talk to police. She spoke with another officer and told him she heard women being put into a woodchipper. Officers made contact with her daughter who advised that she was on drugs. Offender was taken to the hospital.
Officer was approached at SPD by c/p who stated that he was walking from his residence on West Pine Street to his neighbor’s house on the same street when he stepped on a water meter cover near the sidewalk and fell through it.
May 8
Officer was dispatched to North Anderson Drive in reference to a female subject in medical distress. The woman was found on her bed holding a bottle of alcohol in her hand with several empty medication bottles laying around her. She was very aggressive and irate towards officers. She was then taken to Emanuel Medical Center.
Officer was dispatched to SPD in reference to a walk in report. C/p stated her tag had fallen off her vehicle. She stated her husband drove his truck to the store with the tag and when he arrived to work the tag was missing.
Officer responded to Roberts Street in reference to a report of a female who was unconscious, not breathing, and cold to the touch. EMS arrived and there was no sign of life.
Officer was dispatched to South Main Street in reference to a complaint of harassment. C/p reported that his ex-girlfriend had been sending multiple harassing text messages from different phone numbers since their recent breakup. He stated that following the breakup, he fell asleep at her residence and woke up to her holding him at gunpoint. He was advised to seek a TPO against her and to change his cell phone number, and possibly to move residences.
Officer responded to North Racetrack Street in reference to multiple school kids fighting. The offender was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to c/p wanting to make a report of someone following him. C/p stated that a male had been following him around and that he wrote down the tag of his vehicle. He also had multiple voicemails from a male subject threatening him.
May 9
Officer was dispatched to Gumlog Road in reference to an unruly juvenile that had left home. The victim, the mother of the juvenile, stated that she and her son had an argument, and he left the residence. Juvenile was located at his father’s residence and was transported back to his mother’s house.
Officer responded to Gumlog Road in reference to a male breaking thing inside the residence. C/p stated that the father of her child came to her house, and they started arguing over her wanting him to take care of the child while she got her hair done. He broke a TV with his fist, and she stated he hit her in the face but not hard enough to leave a mark.
Officer was dispatched to New Street in reference to damage to property. C/p stated that she was walking her dogs she saw a house with a broken window with the back door open. The owner of the house is in Emanuel County Jail at this time, so it could not be determined if anything was missing.
Officer observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign and conducted a traffic stop. Offender ran from police and was arrested.
Officer responded to King Circle Drive in reference to a caller stating that she needed to make a report about a broken water meter at a residence on New Street. She stated that when she went to City Hall to have water turned on, she was advised that the water meter had been removed due to an outstanding water bill.
Officer responded to SPD in reference to a walk in report. C/p stated that his rental property was involved in a structure fire that resulted in a total loss. He stated that he was working at the time and neighbors stated that the fire was started by a previous tenant.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with a headlight out. When approaching a vehicle, he could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the vehicle. It was found that the driver’s license was also suspended. Offender was arrested for DUI.
May 10
Officer responded to Gumlog Road in reference to a man that was breaking into a home. C/p stated that the father of her child broke into her house through a window, but did not take anything.
Officers responded to South Main Street in reference to a man hitting a woman. Offender was found to be wanted out of Toombs County, Emanuel County, and SPD.
Officer responded to East Pine Street in reference to a dispute. C/p stated that offender was at her residence and stood over her while she was asleep. She stated that he was not invited into the residence but mentioned that her child may have let him in. Offender stated that he was invited in.
Officer responded to Rentz Street in reference to a dispute between neighbors. Upon arrival, c/p stated that the offender pulled a gun on her and two other victims over trash in their yard. Offender denied having a gun.
Officer responded to McMillan Drive in reference to c/p stating that her tag was stolen. She stated that when she returned home from Walmart her tag was missing.
Officers responded to Project Street in reference to a burglary reported by c/p. She stated that when she returned home from work, she found her door open. The offender was identified, and a bottle of alcohol was taken along with a firearm. Offender denied taking the firearm. Offender was also found to have cocaine and was arrested.
Officer responded to South Main Street due to c/p stating that a man was harassing her. Upon arrival the offender had already left the scene. C/p stated that she was in a relationship with the offender, but it ended when she found out he was married, and he has been harassing her ever since.
Officer was in the process of serving a warrant when he was contacted via phone by 911. He was advised that a suspect with an active warrant was in the same location as him. Offender was arrested.
Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for failure to stop at a stop sign. Officer could smell a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from the offender and he was arrested for suspicion of a DUI.
911 advised officers that c/p stated that the passenger in her vehicle was trying to make her wreck. Parties were separated.
Officers met with c/p/victim in her driveway on King Circle Drive in reference to an altercation with her ex-boyfriend. Warrants were issued for offender, and victim was advised of the process for a TPO.
Officer responded to Green Street in reference to a dispute. C/p stated that her boyfriend accused her of stealing his keys after he went to the residence to pick up food. Upon officer arrival the offender had left in his car.
911 dispatched officers to Alice Circle in reference to a man trying to get into a home and would not leave the residents alone. Offender was arrested.
