June 16
Officer responded to Gumlog Rd. in reference to a domestic dispute. Complainant stated of-fender grabbed her phone and ran from the scene when she told him she was calling 911. C/p advised what offender was wearing and stated he was likely still in the area waiting for officers to leave. Officer observed offender approaching his vehicle with both hands in his pockets and was given verbal command to remove his hands. When he complied, officer observed a butcher knife protruding from his front pocket with the blade facing upward. Officer noticed offender’s tire flat and contacted c/p who admitted to puncturing the sidewall with a pair of scissors.
Officer took a walk-in report where complainant stated offender has been illegally obtaining water service from the city. Clearwater Solutions shut the water off and secured the meter with a lock and the lock was cut off. C/p advised that appx. 200 gallons of water had been used since the lock was installed.
Officers responded to Lee St. regarding a report of burglary. Complainant stated someone broke the window on the front door and stole several items.
Officer’s tag reader alerted a vehicle with suspended registration, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. The driver signaled for officer to follow him and stopped on Carver St. Offender advised he just retrieved his vehicle from a repair shop, and it was still experiencing mechanical issues and was afraid to stop because it would shut off and fail to restart. Officer asked the driver for his license to find they are suspended, and he had an outstanding warrant from Richmond Co. A hit confirmation confirmed they wanted a hold placed on offender so her was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer made contact with offender and advised him that he had an active probation warrant and offender appeared visibly tense and uneasy. Offender reached into his pocket and threw a glass pipe into the wood line and a pack of cigarettes onto the shoulder of the road. The cigarette pack contained a rock-like substance wrapped in clear plastic. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
June 17
Officer observed a truck fail to yield to oncoming traffic, nearly colliding with another vehicle, at which time he initiated a traffic stop. Offender provided an international driver’s license and Mexican passport. After viewing the passport, officer noticed it lacked an entry stamp indicating where he entered the US. 911 then informed officer that the driver’s license is suspended. Offender was transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer responded to Lee St. in reference to multiple female juveniles standing in the road try-ing to fight c/p’s daughter. In a previous encounter for the same issues, one mother was advised that if she could not contain her children within her home and handle her home in a law-abiding way, she could be cited for disorderly house due to the number of calls officers have responded to. Offender was cited for disorderly house after having multiple warnings.
June 18
Officer was dispatched to E. Pine St. in reference to a possible physical altercation. Complain-ant stated her child’s father approached her and forced her into the apartment, slapping her in the face multiple times and struck her in the back of the head with a closed fist. Following the incident, offender went to another apartment and initiated a separate altercation with a male subject. Officers attempted to locate offender but was unable to locate him. Arrest warrant was issued on offender for battery – family violence.
Complainant stated she has been receiving harassing text messages from her ex-husband’s girlfriend.
Officer was dispatched to Hwy 56 N. in reference to damage to property. C/p stated a FedEx semi-truck entered the parking lot and struck the curb and light pole, causing it to fall. Public Works Dept. advised the total would be $8,000 to remove and replace the pole.
Officer took a walk-in report where she stated a vehicle struck her vehicle while in line at McDonald’s.
June 19
Officer was dispatched to WalMart in reference to a shoplifter. Suspect had departed the area, and the security agent advised suspect left the store with several items totaling < $40 without paying. Officer made contact with the vehicle and after a brief foot chase, offender was placed under arrest and transported to EmCo Jail.
Officer responded to Anderson Dr. in reference to an unwanted person. Complainant stated her child’s father continues to go to her residence without permission and he arrived uninvited and began knocking on her door. C/p stated she did not open the door because she was fearful, and offender refused to leave until she contacted law enforcement. Officer observed of-fender across the street at Lucky Spot and made contact with him. Offender was issued a criminal trespass notice advising him not to return to the residence.
Officer responded to Lucky St. in reference to criminal trespass. Complainant was irate and stated offender bleached his clothes and returned them in a trash bag. C/p also stated bleach was poured on his $200 tablet, destroying it.
