On Friday, November 7, Twin City Elementary proudly celebrated Veterans Day with two performances honoring the men and women who have served our country. The day began with Kindergarten, first, and second grades performing under the direction of Mr. Adam Akridge, TCE’s music teacher. The Treble Makers music club also performed, showcasing their beautiful harmonies, followed by a standout duet from fifth-grade students Jorie Walden and Max Coker. Each program concluded with students singing the anthem from each branch of the U.S. military while veterans in attendance stood to be recognized for their service.
Following these performances, a Wall of Honor was displayed in the back of the gym, featuring the names of veterans submitted by students and their families. This display served as a visual reminder of the many heroes connected to our school community. After the first program, the Junior Beta Club hosted a brunch in the library for the veterans. The day continued with a second program at 10:15 a.m., showcasing the talents of third, fourth, and fifth-grade students as they delivered a wonderful tribute to those who have served.
