Ms. Terri J. Powell, age 66, of Normantown, died Monday, March 11, 2024, at Medical University of South Carolina Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. The family received friends at Wilkes Funeral Home Wednesday, March 12, from 5 to 7 p.m. A private inurnment will be held at a later date.

Terri was a native of Soperton and lived most of her life in Vidalia. She worked for Southern Company for more than twenty years and loved her grandchildren and all of her animals. Ms. Powell is preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Clyde Johnson.

Ms. Powell is survived by her children, Jesse Powell (Jessie) of Vidalia and Jamie Drew (Nathan) of Five Points Community; sister, Kay Alfonso of Vidalia; niece, Crystal Alfonso of Vidalia; nephew, Vince Alfonso of Swainsboro; and four grandchildren, Cassie, Ethan, Brandon and Izabell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Vidalia Animal Shelter at 2811 Airport Road, Vidalia, GA 30474.

Wilkes Funeral Home of Vidalia is in charge of arrangements.
