Swainsboro is gearing up for a star-spangled celebration as the 4th Annual Swainsboro Jaycees Freedom Fest returns this Saturday, July 5, to downtown Swainsboro. The event promises a full day of patriotic fun, live entertainment, local vendors — and features the city’s only fireworks show and water parade of the year.

Presented by the Swainsboro Jaycees in partnership with the Downtown Development Authority of Swainsboro, Freedom Fest has quickly become one of Emanuel County’s most beloved summer traditions, drawing families and visitors from across the region.

This year’s exciting lineup includes:

• Red, Wet & Blue Water Parade — Swainsboro’s only water parade, a family-friendly (and soaking-wet!) experience for kids and adults

Live music by The Soul Shine Band, performing high-energy tunes downtown

• Arts & crafts vendors showcasing handmade goods and unique finds

• Food trucks offering a variety of crowd favorites and regional eats

• A dazzling fireworks finale — the only fireworks display in Swainsboro this year, lighting up the night sky

Don’t Miss the Parade!

The annual Red, Wet & Blue Water Parade kicks off at 6:00 PM. Bring your buckets, water guns, super soakers, and towels for a city-wide water fight between parade participants and parade attendees!

Please remember: NO water balloons allowed.

Organizers are encouraging the community to get involved, especially in the water parade. Applications for floats and participants are still open, and everyone is welcome to join the fun or cheer from the sidelines.

Parade entries and vendor sign-ups can be submitted through:

• The Downtown Swainsboro Georgia Facebook page

• The City of Swainsboro website

• The Swainsboro Jaycees

• Or by contacting the Downtown Development Authority of Swainsboro directly

Whether you’re attending for the food, the music, the splash-filled parade, or the fireworks lighting up the night, Freedom Fest 2025 is an event you won’t want to miss.

Happening this Saturday, July 5, in downtown Swainsboro — it’s a celebration like no other!
