Thompson, Snelling crowned Miss SMS and Miss SHS

The Miss SMS/SHS Annual Pageant was held Thursday, March 28, at the Swainsboro City Auditorium. Crowds came in great attendance to cheer these beautiful young ladies on and to support the sponsor, Mr. Lindy Sikes and the SHS Band of Gold, the proceeds of which go to help support the SHS Marching Band Program.

The pageant was emceed by Chyann Hoyle, Miss Empire of the South. Hoyle is a prominent advocate for those living with disabilities and an active member of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The judging panel consisted of Lisa Foskey, Maurice Bernie and Allie Griffis. The 2023 reigning queens assisting with presentations consisted of Miss SMS Savannah Thompson and Miss SHS Kali Screws.

Lauren Thompson was crowned Miss SMS 2024, with Jocelyn Williams, first runner-up; Gracee Brown, second runner-up; Jurnee Wynn, third runner-up and Miss Photogenic; and Sarah Smith, fourth runner-up. Summer Peebles was awarded People’s Choice and Emma Grace Bedgood received the Miss Congeniality title.

Di’Mya Snelling was crowned Miss SHS 2024, with Ayla Thompson, first runner-up and Miss Photogenic; Yi’zhariah Bell, second runner-up; Jada Thompson, third runner-up; and Allie Taylor, fourth runner-up. Zaylin Lee received the Miss Congeniality award.

Princess Middleton, the pageant coordinator, expresses her gratitude to all the volunteers, including the band parents and students, for their valuable contribution to making the event a grand success.
