Tommy Johnson, age 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2024, at Pruitt Health-Bethany. Funeral service was held Tuesday, August 13, t 11 a.m. at Ogeechee Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Butch Taylor and Rev. Edwin Taylor officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was Monday, August 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Crowe-Fields Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Jeffery Phillips, Ben Burke, Jeff Lane, Nick Johnson, Allen Bennett and Lester Brinson.

Tommy was born in Miami but lived most of his life in Jenkins County. He was a retired carpenter, mostly for Oglesby Construction Company and was a faithful member of Ogeechee Freewill Baptist Church. Tommy loved dancing, fishing, gardening, sharing his garden with others, and loved Gospel and Country music. Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Dorothy Johnson.

Mr. Johnson is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Patricia Ann Johnson; son, Marshal (Alisha) Johnson; daughters, Trisha Ann (Rock) Hendley of Sardis and Wendy Sue (Earl) Burke of Waynesboro; four brothers, Johnny (Ilene) Johnson of Raleigh, NC, Ernie (Yong) Johnson of Buford, Richard (Gale) Johnson of Millen and Roger (Judy) Johnson of Sylvania; four sisters, Sandy (Skip) White of Raleigh, NC, Sherry (Brian) Bohannon of Sylvania, Jackie Newton of Hiltonia and Lynn (Daniel) Linder of Millen; eight grandchildren, Austin (Taylor) Johnson of Millen, Spencer (Erin) Johnson of Statesboro, D.J. (Jessica) Flakes of Millen, Thomas (Brittany) Flakes of Beach Island, SC, KaSara Flakes (JT) of Baldwin, Brittany Phillips (Jeffery) of Waynesboro, Ben Burke of Waynesboro, Brittany Odom (Reid) of Statesboro, Brailey Johnson and Dean Johnson, both of Millen; 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of Flowers the family requests memorials be made to Pruitt Hospice-Swainsboro.

Crowe-Fields Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of arrangements.
