Two sentenced in Superior Court

The following occurred during the Emanuel County Superior Court October 2024 term:

Thurston Badie non-negotiated a Nol Pros on one count kidnapping and was fined $50; guilty-alford on one count aggravated assault with 20 years probation; Nol Pros on one count aggravated assault; Nol Pros on one count poss of firearm during commission of a felony. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 20 years to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody from 7/12/21-11/20/24. The above sentence may be served on probation provided the defendant shall comply with the Conditions of Probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.

Steve Wayne Alger negotiated a guilty plea on one count child molestation. He was fined $50 with 20 years probation, 8 years to serve, bal. prob.; one count child molestation with 20 years, 8 years to serve to run concurrent with count one. Defendant is sentenced for a total of 20 years, with the first 8 years to be served in confinement and the remainder to be served on probation. Defendant is to receive credit for time served in custody as determined by the custodian. Upon service of 8 years, the remainder of the sentence may be served on probation; PROVIDED, that the defendant shall comply with the conditions of probation imposed by the Court as part of this sentence.
