Virginia Kirkland Herndon, age 75, resident of Twin City, passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Wellstar Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 28, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Down officiating. Interment followed in the Twin City Cemetery. Family received friends Friday, June 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Pam Herndon Martin, Ronald Martin, Zack Martin, Hagan Allen Brown, Natalie Marie Brown and Jeff Herndon.

Virginia was born December 31, 1949, in Emanuel County, to the late Robert Abraham Kirkland and Esther Lee Harper Kirkland. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Herndon is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard William Herndon; brothers, Eddie Benton Kirkland and Edward Lane Kirkland; and sisters, Ruby Caroline Wren and Sara Lou Scott.

Survivors include her daughter, Pamela Herndon Martin (Ronald); grandchildren, Katherine L. Brown (Allen) and Zack Martin (Courtlyn); great-granddaughter, Natalee Brown; great-grandsons, Hagan Brown and Colt Martin.

Arrangements were by Tomlinson Funeral Home and Crematory of Swainsboro.
