Mrs. Vivian Ramona Oglesby (Hutchinson), age 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at home. Funeral services were held Friday, September 12, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Chapman Funeral Home with Chaplain Gregory Ely officiating, assisted by Pastor Randy Graham. Interment followed funeral services at Eastbrook Cemetery & Mausoleum. Family held a reception at the Earl Verner 4-H Center 220 S. Circle Drive, Swainsboro. Visitation was held Friday, September 12, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were Mrs. Ramona’s grandsons.
Ramona was born October 15, 1947, to Lois Cowart. She grew up in Twin City and was an avid ECI bulldog. Ramona studied business administration at Georgia Southern University and worked in Human Resources for Keller Ladder and Rayonier for many years. She dearly loved Jesus, and her family. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Ramona is adored by many and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Oglesby is preceded in death by her mother, stepfather, Caleb Arthur, and sister, Cowart Mary Ann Youmans.
Mrs. Oglesby is survived by her husband, Reamer Oglesby; children, Tim Oglesby, Tony Thompson (Kathy), Tracy Thompson (Sara), Eric Oglesby (Karen), Juli Jenkins (Rob) and Sabrina Anderson (Josh); grandchildren, LeeAnna Thomas, Bella Mitchell, TJ Oglesby (Madison), Matt Oglesby, Cody Oglesby ,Tabitha Davis (Dustin), Tiffany Ross (Jon-Michael), Hunter Thompson, Bryson Thompson, Brandon Oglesby (Shelby Lynne), Austin Oglesby (Raye), Zachary Jenkins, Robert “Bobby” Jenkins (Conny), Alex Jenkins, Chelsea Wiggins (Zane), JP Tuttle (Courtney) and Miranda Steptoe (Avery); 19 great-grandchildren; brothers, Dan Cowart (Shirley) and Billy Cowart (Katie); and several nieces, nephews, and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to: New Beginnings in Christ/Father’s House.
