The Kiwanis Club of Swainsboro held its weekly meeting Tuesday night, March 18, at the Rustic Grill at 6:30 p.m. With Past President Cheryl Goodman presiding, they had two guests in attendance, Swainsboro Police Chief Ashley Riner and Shari Watt. Cheryl Goodman won the peach pie, Deana Patrick won the embroidered dish towel, and Bobbie Daughtry won the Domino’s Pizza. Shari Watt summarized the Keep Emanuel Beautiful meeting. There is a “Trash Bash” scheduled for April 19, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. starting at the Boneyard and ending with pizza back at the Boneyard. Exciting plans are underway for possible mural projects through the “Color the World Bright” project of the Franklin College Arts and Sciences at UGA. Cheryl Goodman announced that Pre-K Fun Day is scheduled for April 18 at 11 a.m. at the Swainsboro Primary School. Also, Kiwanis will host the Knotty Pine 5K Run on May 3, at the Pine Tree Festival, at 8 a.m. with a cannon shot by the Wiregrass Chapter Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution.
