NOTICE OF LOCATION AND DESIGN APPROVAL

P. I. 0017227

EMANUEL COUNTY

Notice is hereby given in compliance with Georgia Code 22-2-109 and 32-3-5 that the Georgia Department of Transportation has approved the Location and Design of this project.

The date of location and design approval is: ____March 12, 2025____

The proposed project would replace the two existing bridge culverts on State Route (SR) 192 over Big Long Creek and over Big Long Creek Tributary in General Militia District (GMD) 57 of Emanuel County, Georgia approximately 1.4 and 2.5 miles, respectively, east of the City of Summertown. The approximate project length is 1.4 miles with a 0.8 mile exception area between the two sites.

These bridges would be constructed on single spans along the existing alignment, while traffic is directed to a temporary on-site detour using temporary bridges parallel to the existing roadway. The approximate construction duration will be 18 months, and the proposed roadway will consist of two 11-foot wide travel lanes with 4-foot wide (2-foot wide paved) wide shoulders.

Georgia Department of Transportation would be responsible for acquiring property rights for this project.
