Notice is hereby given that the Georgia Department of Transportation has approved the use of and the routing of a detour for this project.
The date of detour approval is: September 17, 2025
The proposed project replaces an existing bridge located northeast of Twin City, on CR 459/Friendship Church Road over Fifteen Mile Creek with 200 feet-long and 30 feet-wide bridge. The project’s approximate length of construction is 0.14 miles, with 11 feet of lanes and 4 feet of shoulders. The bridge will be constructed along the existing alignment while traffic is maintained using an off-site detour.
The off-site detour will be in place for the 9-month construction duration. The total detour length is 13.1 miles, with a net detour length of 5.5 miles. The detour will utilize SR 121, US 80, and SR 33/North Railroad Avenue.
