The Veterans at the Library held their weekly meeting at Franklin Memorial Library on Monday, March 10, at 9 a.m. With Chair Johnny Tapley presiding, they had 39 in attendance. The DAR provided a great breakfast to include sausage biscuits and cut up fruit and Shari Watt furnished orange juice, grape juice, apple juice and coffee. They had a new veteran to attend the breakfast, Veteran Sonya Dianne Buissereth who served in the U. S. Army from 1990 until 2013. She was stationed in Germany and the U.S. and was deployed to Desert Storm in Iraq and during OIF and OEF. Buissereth’s highest rank obtained was SSG. The speaker was Alexis Williams, and her presentation was on the “Alzheimer’s Association”. She discussed the disease, what the symptoms were and what could be done to treat it.
