Daughtry speaks to Four Rivers Patriots

The Four Rivers Patriots Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution, held its monthly meeting Thursday night, February 20, at Chatters Restaurant in Lyons at 7 p.m. With President Joel Keener presiding, there were 16 in attendance. After the invocation, President Keener led the Pledge to the U.S. Flag and the Pledge to the SAR. Dual member Dess Smith III then presented Sgt-at-Arms Dan Brown the five chapter Flag Streamer’s; President General Distinction Award 2024, Distinguished Chapter Award 2024, Membership Award 2024, Elijah Clarke Heroes of the Hornets’ Nest event and the Battle of Kettle Creek event. President Keener then inducted the newest member, David Carlton Moncus, who was approved by the National Society on January 24, 2025. His Patriot is Colesby Smith. President Keener then called on Dess Smith III to introduce the speaker for the evening, Compatriot Hu Daughtry. Hu is a member of the Mill Creek Chapter in Statesboro and he and his wife Susan live in Metter. Hu talked about his new book, “48 Stars in the Trunk”, and had signed copies for sale.
