Mrs. Stella J. Kmetz, 95, passed away peacefully Friday, March 28, 2025, at her home following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Saturday, April 5, at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with Father Fredy Angel officiating. Interment followed at Eastbrook Cemetery. Family received friends Saturday, April 5, from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Stella was born July 25, 1929, in Campbell, Ohio, to Frank Glass and Stella Andres Glass. She married Andrew Kmetz on July 12, 1959. They moved to Swainsboro in the 1960s, when the company Andrew worked for, Automatic Sprinkler, moved its operations here. They were very active in the community as well as in Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Mrs. Kmetz is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andrew, who passed in 1998; and her only sibling, Irene Wallace, who passed in 2022.

Mrs. Kmetz is survived by her nieces, Monica Fleisch (Jack), Gertrude Wentsler, Irene Black (Phil) and Paula Churlik (Wayne); several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Stella will be especially missed by her close friends and helpers, Patti Tramontana, Rhianna Gribbin, Jim Byrne and Kathy Byrne.

Chapman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
