The East Georgia State College (EGSC) Foundation is pleased to announce that it has received a generous $15,000 donation in the form of needs-based scholarship funds from the Georgia Power Foundation. This contribution will directly support returning students, ensuring they have the financial assistance needed to stay enrolled and continue their education at EGSC.

The scholarship funds are designed to help students who are facing financial challenges, making it easier for them to persist in their academic journey and achieve their goals. These funds will provide critical financial relief, helping to ease the burden of tuition, fees, and other expenses, allowing students to focus on their studies and their future careers.

“We are deeply grateful to the Georgia Power Foundation for their commitment to supporting our students. This donation underscores the importance of education and the role that partnerships play in empowering students to succeed,” said Harley Smith, Vice President for Institutional Advancement at EGSC. “The scholarship funds will make a real difference in the lives of our returning students, enabling them to stay on track toward graduation and contribute to the community in meaningful ways.”

The donation from the Georgia Power Foundation reflects the company’s dedication to fostering educational opportunities and supporting the workforce of tomorrow. EGSC would like to thank the Georgia Power Foundation for their commitment to investing in the development of future leaders and providing opportunities for students to succeed both academically and professionally.
