Georgia Department of Transportation
Request for Feedback
For P.I. No. 0018236
Emanuel County
0018236
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is requesting review and feedback on the proposed project. We appreciate your partic-ipation in this process.
This project proposes a bridge replacement on CR 160/Halls Bridge Road over West Fork Yam Grandy Creek, in Emanuel County approx-imately three miles west of Swainsboro, Georgia.
The existing bridge over West Fork Yam Grandy Creek was built in 1920. The existing bridge consists of two spans and the design loading is S-BUS36. The bridge is load restricted and is scour critical. The roadway at the bridge consists of two 8-foot lanes (one in each direction) and has no shoulder. There is an existing 30-feet wide prescriptive easement, and additional right-of-way of 100-125 feet is anticipated. An off-site detour is proposed during construction which would utilize US-80 and Radio Loop Rd and have a net length increase in travel of 0.9 mile.
GDOT has placed information about the proposed project at https://www.dot.ga.gov/GDOT/Pages/PublicOutreach.aspx. The information on the website is provided in place of an in-person meeting allowing the public to review the proposed project, provide feedback, or write in with questions.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Information:
To request materials in accessible formats for people with disabilities contact the District Planning and Programming Liaison at 478-553-3407 or [email protected].
Comments will be accepted concerning this project until Friday, May 30, 2025. Written statements may be submitted to:
