The Veterans at the Library held their weekly meeting at the Franklin Memorial Library Monday morning, August 3, at 9 p.m. With Chair Johnny Tapley presiding, they had 42 in attendance. They enjoyed breakfast consisting of breakfast casserole, honey buns and watermelon. Shari Watt provided the orange juice, grape juice, cranberry juice, apple juice and coffee. The speaker was the Emanuel County Probate Judge, Chase Sherrod. He talked about his duties and what he could do for the veterans and discussed some items that he is pursuing for veterans. Chair Johnny talked about the new Veterans Wall that is under construction at the Veterans and 1st Responders Memorial Park. Be sure and be on the lookout for the flyer that you can use to honor your veteran on the new wall. Spots are on sale now and the form can be picked up at the Franklin Memorial Library.
