Connie Diann Riner, age 80, of Savannah, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026, at her residence. Funeral Services were held Wednesday, September 30, at 2 p.m. at United Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Dean Robbins officiating. Interment followed in Swainsboro City Cemetery. Family received friends from 12:30 to 2 p.m. prior to services.

Pallbearers were Zac Bedgood, Harold Cavanah, Nick Jordan, Josh Thornburg, Don Whitmire and Donny Riner.

Connie was born May 27, 1946, in Swainsboro, to the late Roey Perry Riner and Irene Claxton Riner. She was a 1964 graduate of Swainsboro High School and was a charter member of New Hope Fellowship Primitive Baptist Church, where she faithfully served and enjoyed singing with the choir. Connie also had a love for music and found great joy in playing the piano. She cherished the time she spent with her family and was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved.

Connie retired in 2010 from the Chatham County Health Department after many years of dedicated service. She will be remembered for her kind heart, her love of music, her faith, and most of all, the love she had for her family. Connie leaves behind many cherished memories that will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Ms. Riner is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Raymond Riner (Ava); and sister Joyce Riner Crumpton (Sam).

Ms. Riner is survived by her sons, Andy Bedgood (Marie) of Rincon and Mitchell Bedgood (Don Whitmire) of Atlanta; daughter, Roxanne Bedgood Pierce of Rincon; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several other family members.

Durden-Hudson Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
