Daughtry speaks to Mill Creek

The Mill Creek Chapter, Georgia Society Sons of the American Revolution held its monthly meeting May 21, at the Old Timey Restaurant at 6 p.m. With President Randy Jones presiding, they had 12 in attendance. After the invocation and Pledges to the U.S. Flag and the SAR, President Randy introduced Mill Creek Chapter member Hu Daughtry to present his program for the evening. Hu and his wife Susan live in Metter, and he is a retired Pharmacist. His presentation was on “Irish American Patriots, in my family”. After the program, President Randy called on Dual member Dess Smith III of the Wiregrass Chapter in Swainsboro for a special presentation. Dess presented the Chapter with the Frederica Naval Action Event that was held on April 19, at St. Simons Island where he presented the Mill Creek Chapter Wreath and Dess also presented the Chapter with the Georgia Society 2023 Membership Award that was awarded to the Chapter at the annual BOM meeting in Duluth.
