DEA Eagles defeat Grace Christian

David Emanuel Academy Eagle Football has started a new era with a brand-new coaching staff. The Eagles, led by Head Coach TC Guyer and Assistant Coach Natavus Robertson, hosted the season opener Friday, August 23, playing and defeating Grace Christian.

The team is looking strong as we begin the season. Coach Guyer says, “They are doing the work, I’m just watching over and making sure the fire spreads.” The Eagles were certainly fired up heading into Friday’s game. Heading into halftime, the score was 4 -0 with the Eagles on top.

Our players of the game this week come as no surprise. Senior RB/LB, #7 Clayton Hood, came in as our Ware’s BBQ MVP with six carries, 153 rushing yards, three rushing touchdowns, one reception, 30 receiving yards, one receiving touchdown, six tackles, four TFL, one QB pressure and one caused fumble. Offensive players of the game went to the offensive line #9 Jaxson Wiggins – Senior Guard, #76 Jonah Boatright – Junior Center, and #21 Brody Fleming – Junior Guard with a collective – 318 total offensive yards, two passing touchdowns, five rushing touchdowns, zero sacks allowed, and zero QB pressures allowed. Defensive player of the game is none other than #1 Tucker Free, Sophomore LB with six tackles, two QB pressures, two fumble recoveries and one caused fumble.

Special teams’ player of the game went to #17 John-Nathan Martin, Junior RB/DB with four tackles and one caused fumble on kick off and one kickoff return for 23 Yards. Practice player of the week is #3 Jace Farmer, Freshman QB.

When the clock ran down at the end of the fourth, DEA came out on top with a final score of 52-21. David Emanuel is looking forward to many more wins under the leadership of Coach Guyer and Coach Robertson. They worked hard with our Eagles through the summer and continue to put in work daily.
