DEA Middle School and Varsity Eagles travel to Briarwood Academy

On Tuesday, January 23rd, the David Emanuel Academy middle school and varsity teams traveled to Briarwood Academy for a night of basketball. The Eagles middle school girls’ team started the evening off battling the Buccaneers. Emily McRae led the team with 7 points. Also contributing for DEA were Lyla Martin with 4 points, Mary Bess Fields and Scout Hall each with 2 points, and Aubry Scott with 1 point. The Eagles fell short with a final score of 34-16. In the middle school boys’ game, the Eagles lost to Briarwood with a final score of 56-32. High scorer for the Eagles was Karson Kettles with 9 points followed by Dalton Flowers with 7 points, Jack Evan Fields 6 points, Lake Woods 4 points, and Charlie McRae, Samuel Martin, and Eli Way each with 2 points. In the varsity girls’ game, the Eagles suffered a tough loss ending with a score of 61-19. Scoring for the Eagles was Emma Proctor with 11 points, Kyli Bell with 6 points and Bailey McNure with 2 points. In an intense Varsity boys game, the Eagles battled hard against the Buccaneers but unfortunately ended with a loss of 60-57. Randon Williams led the team with 22 points. Also contributing for the Eagles was Billy Martin and Peyton Lee with 16 points each and Richard Braddy with 3 points.
