On Monday March 4, Dr. Koosh Desai, Internal Medicine Physician at Phoebe Putney in Albany, spoke to the club about colon cancer and the importance of getting a colonoscopy. With him was Sable Fleming, RN who is responsible for developing programs to increase screenings in this region of the state. Dr. Desai informed that we have a higher percentage of colon cancer in this region, so it is extremely important to keep up with the testing to catch this early.
The Swainsboro Rotary Club has been extremely busy these last few weeks. Members are planning the Pine Tree Festival beauty pageant and also taking of other business that the club is responsible for.
