At the regular meeting of the Swainsboro Exchange Club held on September 22, club member Don Wilkes introduced guest speaker Dr. Alicia Johnson. Dr. Johnson represents District 2 for the Georgia Public Service Commission.
She spoke on Data Centers and answered many questions concerning eminent domain, increased power, noise, water consumption, regulation by Public Service Commission, county ordinances, transparency, private ownership, peak demand, blackouts, water concerns, PCS control of data centers, and cost of new transmission lines. She stated that Georgia is one of the preferred states for data centers.
