June is finally here and the library is buzzing with excitement and determination to help make this summer rememberable. We have two of our performers down with three more to go! In case you missed our last two performances, we hosted Chad Crews who performed a wonderful magic show and GSU Wildlife Center who brought such an amazing educational performance with their rehabilitated animals. These shows were both loved and brought many laughs and smiles to all of us here at the library. Our next Magic Show performance will be by Brian Robert on June 10, at 2 p.m. Everyone of all ages is welcome and encouraged to attend, and there is no sign-up required for any of our performances.

Our Summer Reading Program (SRP) is a program for all ages Each patron is asked to complete a challenge in their age group or grade level reading a number of books will help them achieve their goals. To add adventure, fun and literature learning to our program, we offer performances from different performers across the state of Georgia. We also include incentives as a reward to our patron’s achievements. Upon registration, you will receive a bag filled with flyers and information that will help guide you through the SRP and keep you updated on what our next event will be. We currently have a coloring contest happening for the entire month of June. This contest is for all ages and will need to be turned in no later than June 30, with your name and active phone number for us to contact the winners. Once judged, each winner will be called by the number provided and asked to come to the library to receive their prize. If you have any questions or would like to sign up, please call or visit us at (478) 237.7791 or 331 West Main Street, Swainsboro.
