Grand jury returns 14 true bills, 2 no bills

The January 2024 term of the Emanuel County Grand Jury reconvened on Friday, January 26, 2024, with the Honorable Tommy J. Smith presiding. The grand jurors elected David Schecter to serve as foreperson, Patrick Andrews to serve as assistant foreperson, and Casey Woods to serve as clerk. The grand jurors and the bailiff, John Allen Bailey, were sworn by Judge Smith as to their duties.

The District Attorney’s Office presented 16 bills of indictment to the Grand Jury, and the Grand Jury returned 14 true bills and 2 no bill.
