Tomlinson Funeral Home & Crematory announces the death of Mrs. Judith Jersey Hancock, age 67, of Swainsboro, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Emanuel Medical Center. Funeral Services were held Tuesday, September 1, at 2 p.m. at Calvary Methodist Church with Rev. Tim Tidwell and Rev. Glen Hancock officiating. Interment followed at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Family received friends at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
Pallbearers were Bryson Hancock, Stephen Purser, John Dekle, Gary Hallman, John Sapp and Mitch Flakes.
Judith was born July 23, 1959, in Albany, to the late Richard and Lola Baker Jersey. She was a trained cosmetologist and former operator of Wild Horse Western Wear. Judith loved traveling and shopping, especially adding to her shoe collection, reading, and arts and crafts. She also enjoyed volunteering for senior activities at the churches that her and her husband served through the years. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hancock is preceded in death by her brother, Richard Jersey, Jr.; and sister, Deborah Branch Washburn.
Mrs. Hancock is survived by her husband, Marvin Glenn Hancock of Swainsboro; children, Joe Holaway (Christy) of Swainsboro, Brandi Davis of Jesup, April Griffith of Gordon, Rose Gray of Leslie, MI, Kevin Hancock of Fitzgerald, Brandi Hancock Hallman (Gary) of Ft. Valley and Nikki Hancock Purser (Stephen) of Cochran; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Bill Jersey of Statesville, NC; extended family; and her fur babies, Michael and Jane.
