Tomlinson Funeral Home & Crematory announces the death of Mrs. Julia M. Farthing, age 90, of Swainsboro, on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at Pruitt Nursing home. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 3, at 2 p.m. in the Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Henry officiating. Interment followed in the Joyner Cemetery. The family received friends at Tomlinson Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers were Zach Farthing, Caleb “C.J.” Farthing, Ethan Farthing, Kip Farthing, Jeffrey Scarborough and Payton Farthing. Honorary escorts were Staff of Pruitt Health Hospice.

Julia was formerly of the Canoochee area. Mrs. Farthing is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Annie Edenfield Fouche; brothers, Eugene “Buddy” Fouche, Jack Fouche and Paul Fouche; and sister, Rosezell Fouche Kay.

Survivors include her sons, Dana Farthing, Michael Farthing (Joy), Stanley Farthing (Polly) and Craig Farthing (Mariann); eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Tomlinson Funeral Home & Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
