Kiwanis supports school supplies giveaway

The Swainsboro Kiwanis Club actively supports all of the K-12 schools in Emanuel County. Recently the Club, along with other community groups, contributed to two events that focused on getting school supplies to students for this academic year. The Club donated funds and supplies to support Ronnie Shumake and his Future Generation Youth Book Bag Drive on July 27, 2024. Book bags and other school supplies were passed out to hundreds of students. On August 3, the Club again partnered with the Franklin Memorial Library and other community groups to support Melissa Kirby and the City of Swainsboro in a Back to School/Touch a Truck event at the Boneyard. The Swainsboro Kiwanis Club also made cotton candy, cooked popcorn, and passed out bags of school supplies.
