Maybe with the new $150,000.00 grant money for the new Karrh Community Arts Center they can now afford to restore “The Dixie Theater” marquee over the front entrance back to its original splendor, or at least to the artist’s interpretation photo we were shown at the beginning. Then, they will be well on their way to actually “restoring” the theater as was intended, instead of “remodeling” as they have been doing for quite some time now. I think the citizens of Swansboro and Emanuel County will be extremely pleased with a restored marquee, don’t you? Please see photo of artist’s rendition which was previously approved and published in the Forest Blade. I know the “restoration committee” will make sure the marquee is restored as closely as possible to the original. I know the citizens of Emanuel County will be appreciative of the council’s insistence that the restoration be done as closely resembling the original as possible. Then, we’ll have something we can certainly be very proud in my hometown of Swainsboro. Thank you most sincerely.
