Martha Braddy Kent, 79

Tomlinson Funeral Home & Crematory announces death of Martha Braddy Kent, age 79, of Swainsboro, on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at her residence. Funeral Services were held Saturday, October 3, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church with Bryan Jones and Rev. Casey Shaw officiating. Interment was private. Family received friends Friday, October 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home

Pallbearers were Julian Sconyers, Eddie Lewis, Gary Meeks, Barry Burrell, Hunter Jones, Andrew Amerson and Bowen Clifton.

Martha was born August 8, 1947, in Swainsboro, to the late Edwin Poole and Hilda Braddy Poole. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Swainsboro and retired as the County Executive Director of the Farm Service Agency. Mrs. Kent is preceded in death by her parents.

Mrs. Kent is survived by her husband, David Kent of Swainsboro; daughter, Kathy Jones (Bryan) of Swainsboro; grandchildren, Tori Dear, Hunter Jones and Hannah Anderson (Andrew), all of Swainsboro; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Rentz (Wayne) of St. Simons Island; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Tomlinson Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.
