Minister Bobby Lee Allen, Sr., age 78, departed this life on Sunday, March 3, 2024. A Celebration of Life was held Saturday, March 9, at 1 p.m. at St. Philip Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Amos Handsom officiating and Elder Willie L. Harden presiding. Interment followed in Swainsboro City Cemetery.

Bobby Lee Allen, Sr. was born May 15, 1945, in Laurens County, the fourth of six children to the late Amos Holder Allen and Essie Mae Smith-Allen. He attended Emanuel County Schools and was a graduate of the Class of 1964. Minister Allen is preceded in death by his parents; son, Samuel De’Angelo Allen; and sister, Myrtle L. Allen-Welsh.

Minister Allen leaves a legacy of loving memories with his wife, Geraldine Coleman Allen; sons, Bobby Allen, Jr. (Patricia) of Mansfield, CT, Alexander Allen (Cherie) and LeBron Allen (Deidre), both of Miami, FL; four stepchildren, Martha Cheeks, Darlene Fields (Willie), Alphonso Durden (Almeatta), all of Swainsboro and LaTonya Durden of Acworth; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four siblings, Annie Franklin, Pastor James Allen (Melrose), Alvin Allen (Vivian) and Mary Allen; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

Mosley’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
