Neal, Boyles win first place in 2024 Resolution Run 5K

On a nice, cool January 1, 2024, morning, runners descended upon the campus of East Georgia State College Swainsboro for the running of the 9th Annual Kiwanis Resolution Run 5K. Registration for the Run began at 8 a.m. with the official start at 9 a.m. It was a chilly 45+o. The Run, sponsored by the Swainsboro Kiwanis Club, was held to raise money for the Kiwanis Club’s many community projects.

The overall winner in the male division was Martin Neal from Swainsboro with a time of 21 minutes and 27 seconds. The overall winner in the female division was Mary Jo Boyles from Pooler with a time of 26 minutes and 55 seconds. The male masters’ division winner was David Bolton from Savannah with a time of 24 minutes and 21 seconds. The female masters’ division winner was Carol Edwards with a time of 42 minutes and 24 seconds.

Age group winners in the male division were age 20-29, 1st place Jacob Westbrooks; age 40-49, 1st place Mark Roy; age 50-59, 1st place Kevin Faircloth, 2nd place Paul Cerpovicz and 3rd place Brian Tuttle; age 60-69, 1st place David Rowe; and age 70 and older, 1st place John Torpy and 2nd place Gerald Holsonback.

Age group winners in the female division were age 40-49, 1st place Tressa Tuttle; age 50-59, 1st place Beth Lane; age 60-69, 1st place Barbara Ervin; age 70 and over, 1st place Robyn Bonilla.
