The highly anticipated visit from Santa occurred on December 7 and was a highlight of the 17th Annual Downtown Swainsboro Christmas Parade. The community came together to create a stunning lighted parade that attracted people from nearby areas to our charming downtown. After the parade, Santa took time to hear the children’s Christmas wishes, while parents captured precious moments with photos of their little ones.

This year’s festivities included a brand-new addition: a live puppet show performed by the Franklin Memorial Library. The community also enjoyed musical performances by the Hillcrest Baptist Praise Team, Sadie Boulineau, Dellwood Baptist Youth Band, Christ United Community Youth Choir, Allstar Dance Academy, and the ECI Marching Band & Dance Line. Meanwhile, attendees shopped with arts and crafts vendors and indulged in delicious food from the food trucks.

The top three floats of the parade were awarded as follows: 1st place to One Moore, 2nd place to Jesus Saves, and 3rd place to East Georgia State College. The Downtown Development Authority would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated in this year’s Christmas festivities. For updates on future events in Downtown Swainsboro, please visit the City of Swainsboro website or Facebook page.
