Peggy, preferably called Joyce, was born June 15, 1956, in Macon, to the late John Henry and Peggy Taylor Carter. She and her family moved to Emanuel County when she was young. Joyce worked in the sewing industry, as a pharmacy technician, and retired from Twin City Quality Buildings. She loved and was dedicated to her grandbabies. Joyce also loved to travel, especially going on cruises, and she loved to shop. Ms. Jones is preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Jarrett Logan.

Survives include her very special companion of 32 years, Jeff Glover of Swainsboro; son, Bryan Irby of Keysville; two daughters, Tracy Childs (John) of St. Simons and Stephanie Barnett (David) of Swainsboro; two brothers, David Carter of Swainsboro and Robert Carter of Canoochee; seven grandchildren, three of which were extremely special and close to her, Trey (Brooke), Stone (Kelly) and Justin Logan; three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends who were like family.

Durden Hudson Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
