The Sons of Confederate Veterans Camps McLeod Moring #1386, Ogeechee Rifles #941, with assistance from the Order of Confederate Rose Heritage Roses #15, as well as members of Troop 5 Sons of Confederate Veterans Mechanized Calvary, joined together to bring Christmas to needy families in Bulloch and Emanuel Counties. Families nominated to the organization received groceries, Christmas trees with decorations and items off their perspective wish lists, as well as a visit from Santa. Members from the McLeod-Moring Camp were George Lutz, Daryl Hill, Landon Johnson, Noah Johnson, and Ogeechee Rifles member Marshall Webster assisted in the delivery of presents to the families. Hill, Johnson, Johnson and Webster are also members of the SCV Mechanized Calvary Troop 5. Heritage Roses members Buffy Hill, Jenny Williams and Nikki Mullins did the shopping and wrapping of presents, as well as assisted in the deliveries made to the families. Anyone interested in joining the Sons of Confederate Veterans may contact the Camp Commander B. Daryl Hill at [email protected]. Anyone interested in becoming a member of the Heritage Roses may contact President Buffy Hill at [email protected].
